Originally published as a Guide, then revised with tolerances to a Specification, this is the only standard that covers the special grade of industrial woven wire cloth referred to as filter cloth or Dutch weave, for general filtration including the separation of solids from fluids. E2814 introduces standard terms, presents normal technical tolerances, as well as alternative acceptance criteria based on a desired pore size or micron retention filtration rating, as determined by bubble point pressure testing, glass bead testing, the Tittel and Berndt math model, and the GeoDict computer model. |
